artist
Rhiannon, born in South Wales, now lives and works in Cornwall. She studied
for a BA(Hons) in Studio Ceramics at Harrow, exhibiting work in Bayswater and
later gained a Post Graduate at Kingston University.
Rhiannon works with two media, oil and watercolour and finds the quality of
one influencing the other. Her contemporary landscapes are currently exhibited
throughout galleries in Cornwall, Devon and Wales.
artist’s statement
I strive to create positive, lively imagery, inspired by the beauty of the
natural land.
I paint honestly, interpreting the scene with bold exaggerated colours, striving
to fill the canvas with energy and light. Whether using oil or watercolour
I paint quickly using a wet on wet technique, with strong and fluid strokes
using a brush or palette knife. I build texture in areas using layers of paint,
and scratch into the canvas to suggest detail and structure.
I am constantly inspired by colour, shape and light and enjoy bringing my
description of them to the canvas
